Transecare

The TranseCare project investigates the use of new technologies for supporting daily activities in the home environment. Special attention is given to the mobility of the patient/user. "Personal network" concepts (self-configuring and self-organising networks of heterogeneous personal devices) for patients will be designed.

The TranseCare project wants to take the concept of "independent living systems" a step further. Several important themes will be studied in this project, such as:

  • The creation of a "transparent home environment", offering to people an "open window" on the world in their home environment through the aid of ICT
  • The creation of a "transparent data exchange platform", offering the adequate information to both professional and non-professional care givers.
  • The creation of a "transparent network environment" offering support to both domotica and mobility aspects.

The TranseCare proposal thus builds on three important pillars, each involving an in-depth research of several involved technical and non-technical items. The study on the domainanalyses and the business modeling activity will offer the overall framework for the TranseCare platform construction. In the third project year a proof-of-concept small scale field trial will be installed offering an integration of some of the services developed in the project.
