Railway Applications Integration and Long-term Networks

 

The RAILS project uses technology, extends possibilities and solves unaddressed issues from the ICON project TRACK.

In TRACK, business models were investigated to deploy a broad spectrum of applications using wireless technologies to communicate on board the train and to the wayside.

RAILS researches on-board and train-to-wayside network optimizations, railway application support and the development of a management platform.

Proof of concepts showcasing RAILS’ advances in network technology will be demonstrated in the lab and in an actual operational train environment.
