However, the information overload that is generated from cameras on land and airborne vehicles and surveillance cameras in the field, poses serious challenges for operators in a control room to maintain a clear overview of a situation and to quickly respond to crisis events. In complex cases, often 50+ cameras need to be monitored putting severe strain on the operator. There is a clear need for automated support in the management of the multitude of videostreams in order to make split second decisions.
