ICA4DT wants to build up a critical mass in image processing in Flanders. The added value and competencies can thereafter be defined on a global basis.
The clinician obtains an added value in three domains:
- Visualisation: More and better images, which are available more quickly
- Quantification: Automatic measurement of images
- Qualification: Automated detection for a diagnosis of symptoms with Computer Aided Detection features.
Quantification and qualification are crucial for evidence-based medicine. The objective is to optimise therapies with the help of the most recent and objective data.
