GR@SP

Quality of Service and Quality of Experience are both important aspects of the modern innovation process, especially for research into services offered to end users. In order to develop high-quality applications for users, special care must be given to how an end user experiences those applications.

This implies, for example, the need for greater involvement by users in the development of new products or services.

So far, research on QoS and QoE has focused primarily on a number of technical aspects, without a clear comprehensive approach. To truly add value to efficient innovation, an all-encompassing approach to Quality of Experience and Quality of Service is required.

The GR@SP project intends to bridge the divide between Quality of Service and Quality of Experience. This calls for the creation of a general model and methodology for QoS and QoE. Besides this, Gr@SP aims to develop a complete vision of what precisely QoE means for applications with mobile media.

Not only should technical aspects be investigated, but also matters such as user expectations and the user’s social context. GR@SP also investigates how user research based on the various building blocks of the Quality of Experience can be most adequately translated into relevant technical output.
