IBBT in the press

The future of the regional television channels is threatened according to FocusTV en WTV. The recent decision of the television cable company Telenet to dramatically reduce the payment of royalties gives the regional channels little ‘breathing room’. On the other hand the latest media trends demand additional investments. A mobile platform and more rapid and accurate reporting are crucial to attract and retain young viewers. (article in Dutch)

The Flemish government set aside 10 million euros to support the four Strategic Research Centres, including IBBT, to finance spin-offs. The measure is given the working title SOFI (Spin-Off Financieringinstrument).
