Infosession Next Generation Access (NGA) Living Lab

Start 26/11/10 10:00
End 26/11/10 12:00

According Wikipedia  a Living Lab  is “a user-centred, open innovation ecosystem, often operating in a territorial context (e.g. city, agglomeration, region), integrating concurrent research and innovation processes within a Public-Private-People partnership“ In the city quarters Buda and Overleie of Kortrijk, a living lab environment is currently being set up.  Some 300 fiber connections (FTTH) are planned in order to realize a user panel of 600-700 test users.  This test user panel will be managed by IBBT (i.Lab.o) in close cooperation with the City of Kortrijk. The roll out of the fibre infrastructure will take several months, we expect to have first homes connected summer 2011. The main objective of this Living Lab project is to offer an open test platform in a ‘living environment’ to developers/providers of a broad variety of innovative applications/services of social or commercial interest. To guide you to connect to the lab, a planning is made so you have an idea when and how the panel members will appreciate your service or application. During the fi-week, documentation explaining how to connect your application into the lab will be released. Furthermore, keep your agenda free mid February, by then the screening of candidates will take place. On Friday 26/11  (10h00-12h00), at the IBBT  meeting rooms ATARI and BEBOX, the unique concept of this Living Lab project in Flanders, will be explained.  Everybody,  interested in broadband applications  (e-health, multimedia, gaming, machine-to-machine, cloud computing …) is welcome.
