End-user devices
For those situations where the involvement of an end-user is needed, or when the experimenter wants to execute fully realistic experiments taking into account the properties and possible limitations (screen size, battery life, processing power) of the intended end-user device, iLab.t has a broad range of user devices available, which can be integrated in experimental setups or used during field-trials.
- High-end desktop PCs;
- Barebone and embedded computing devices. These small-sized, easily transportable PCs are ideally suited for experimenting outside the iLab.t premises, for example to set up example experiments in the living room of users, or deployments in public buildings;
- Laptops and tablet PCs with various wireless technologies such as IEEE 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth;
- Various PDAs and smart phones with wireless technologies such as UMTS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;
- Set-top boxes for cable and DSL access;
- Wireless access points.
All PCs, laptops and most other computing devices are easily configurable with different operating systems such as Microsoft Windows or Linux.
