On 14 October, the second international workshop on Business Models for Mobile Platforms (BMMP 10) was hosted at the ICIN 2010 conference in Berlin. The workshop mainly focused on the causes and effects of the current explosion of platforms in the mobile ICT industry. ICON call 2011: deadline for submissions is 01/02/2011

After three successful ICON calls (Interdisciplinary Cooperative Research), new ICON projects can once again be submitted at IBBT. The ICON procedure is geared to IWT's R&D procedure. ICON submission date postponed

The final deadline for the ICON project call 2010 was Monday, April 26, 2010 (at noon). The vulcanic ash cloud above Europe of the eruptions of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull impedes the finalization of some of the ICON proposals submission procedures. Thus, IBBT decided to extend the submission deadline. Read more...

11 new projects approved in 1st ICON call
On July 2nd 2009, the Board of Directors of IBBT approved 11 out of the 13 ICON project proposals in the first ICON call. The projects AQUA, CIMI, LLINGO, MAPLE, MobiRoute, TRACK, iMind, SuperCT, Santa Bumo, AdMid and EPICS were approved.

10 new submissions in 2nd ICON call
On June 18th 2009, the deadline for submission of project proposals for our second ICON-call 10 proposals were submitted. The results of the selection and evaluation procedure will be announced in December 2009.
iMinds: pictures, presentations and other highlights online now!
The first edition of iMinds, IBBT´s networking event, was a huge success. Over 900 participants from diverse sectors and with different backgrounds came together to discuss new ways of ICT-innovation. An exquisite selection of national and international speakers provided an interactive and inspiring program. All presentations and video´s our now online. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners of the first Innovation & Creativity Applications (INCA) award. The team of Bart Swennen, Gert Vos and Johannes Taelman won the competition with their application "Twoddler" taking home the first prize of 5000 Euro.

After 5 successful editions of the IBBT Brokerage Event, we are ready to launch a completely new networking event! On May 12th 2009, iMinds will offer an interactive program, alternating inspirational speeches from Samuel Widmann (Google), Amy Shuen (author of "Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide"), Alain De Taeye (TomTom), Ken Ducatel (European Commission) and several others with thematic tracks on research, incubation & entrepreneurship and ICT policy. First ICON call a success: 13 new project proposals
In the first ICON call 13 new project proposals have been submitted, involving some 56 partners, 37 of which will be joining IBBT projects for the first time. The evaluation procedure for the projects starts now, and the granted projects will be announced early July 2009. The first call within the ICON procedure, which is strongly geared to IWT´s R&D-procedure, is a success as about 25 companies made use of the opportunity to apply for the R&D-support while submitting the ICON project proposal.
