In December this year the Research and Innovation Agreement 2007-2011 that VRT-medialab was entrusted with, will come to an end.
Therefore they’ll be organizing a closing event during iMinds, our yearly IBBT networking conference on Thursday October 13.
They will look back on the past 5 years in 2 consecutive sessions. Through these sessions and the exposition as well, their researchers will elaborate on the 4 most important projects they are currently working on: CHAMP, MediaLoep, VillaSquare / VillaCRM.
The exposition will offer not only demonstrations from the VRT-medialab itself, but also from its spin-offs CandIT Media and Limecraft.
is the supporting platform for the social media section of the VRT program “Villa Vanthilt”. It offers the viewers a second screen application enabling them to interact with Marcel Vanthilt through social media during the live show. The selected messages are brought on-air and CRM techniques are experimented with to reach certain target groups (e.g. men in Western Flanders between 25 and 34 years old) in real-time.
is a flexible and collaborative production platform. CHAMP offers tailored, innovative web applications allowing program makers to collaborate efficiently through consumer devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. VRT-medialab will demonstrate the first applications and results which, in collaboration with the production company Sputnik TV, were developed as part of the VRT program “Tournée Générale”.
demonstrates how searching through audiovisual materials can be optimized through the re-use of readily available information in the production process (e.g. subtitling) on the one hand and through the fully automated enrichment thereof through information available through the internet (e.g. Wikipedia). This search applications allows the program maker to find the searched-for fragments fast, neatly arranged and easily.
