Just a few moments ago, after Peter Hirshberg's keynote speech at iMinds, the winner of the INCA Awards 2010 was announced!
INCA (INnovative and Creative Applications) is a contest for developers of IT applications with a social surplus value, this year organized by IBBT in close collaboration with 5 European partners. Participants had 6 weeks to develop an application about the theme ‘inclusive society’.
A jury selected 10 laureates out of the 29 accepted submissions.
Shoppy was chosen as the big winner. Shoppy is a web site and accompanying iPhone app which allows volunteers (shoppers) and people in need to meet. People in need create shopping lists, which volunteers in the neighborhood can pick up and deliver.
Shoppy is an initiative of Tom Nys, Gert Van Nespen en Sandy Cools who took home the money prize of 10 000 Euro.
Silver (an amout of 2500 euro) went to FeedSpeaker (Veljko Sekelj), Seffens (Jan Plessers), Tweets for Equal Europe: (Tapio Nurminen, Raine Rimpilä, Hans Garritzen) en Empaper.me (Pieter De Mil, Jeroen Hoebeke, Inge Schilders and Kerlijne De Smet).
Bronze (1000 euro) went to WheelShare.it (Jen Rossey, Pieter De Mil, Jeroen Hoebeke, Inge Schilders and Irma Roosen), Wheelmap (Holger Dieterich, Christoph Bünte, Dorian Roy en Raul Krauthausen), Libre de barreras (Consorcio Fernando de los Rios), iCouldUse.net (Kai Aras) en CitizensOnPatrol (Joana Costa).
