Please nuance the ITU-index!

Lode De Waele (IBBT - SMIT - VUB) and dr. Pieter Ballon (IBBT - SMIT - VUB & IBBT - iLab.o) published an article in Data News in respons to the significant drop of Belgium´s position in the world ranking of IT development.

Virtually the entire Belgian press paid attention and concern to the recent comments of the ICT index of the ITU, in which Belgium plummeted from the 15th to the 24th rank. Luc Blyaert also criticized in Dates News the absence of a Belgian telecom policy aimed at more providers and lower prices. But according to De Waele and Ballon the necessary differentiations of the ITU index should be made.
