Although technology is increasingly user-friendly and accessible, managing large amounts of audiovisual material remains a challenge. This difficulty is even greater when different parties work together on the same production.
During this project, we will set up an online application that is capable of supporting the different actors throughout the production processes of audiovisual media. The primary goal is to reduce the cycle time of the production by avoiding manual processing of information. Then again, based on a careful selection of open standards, we intend to deploy a system that is genuinely designed for collaborative production and geographically distributed operations. NordicLight is built based on a technology originally developed by VRT Medialab.

Limecraft coordinates ‘Nordiclight’ and is responsible for the development of production applications. The company develops software to support scenario development, automation of production and postproduction. Wappa is a software developer, specializing in complex back-end applications. Professionals from the audiovisual sector determine the functional requirements of the platform. Raindance has engaged a number of screenwriters, producers, cameramen, sound engineers, production assistants and directors. Taglicht Media is a production company specialized in documentaries with a strong affinity for innovation and technology.
NordicLight is partially subsidised by the European MEDIA Program, an instrument of EACEA (Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency). Furthermore, this project was realized with the support of Flanders Media Desk.
