IBBT @ Open Bedrijvendag

IBBT opens its doors during this year´s Open Bedrijvendag. On Sunday, 5 October, we want all our visitors to discover IBBT in an active, educational and relaxing way. Test how good you move on the rhythm of the music with the musical synchrotron game. Come experience our multitouch table: a touch screen where you can use all your fingers on. Explore our virtual school and experiment with the new technology of a newspaper on digital paper. We are hoping to welcome you on 5 October!

GBO projects become ICON projects

The application and evaluation processes for interdisciplinary cooperation projects with IBBT companies, formerly known as GBO projects, are currently under review and will henceforth be replaced by projects for Interdisplinary Collaborative Research (ICON projects). There is substantially no difference between this type of projects and the GBO goals but the liaison with the IWT is being reinforced.

Wirelessly connected in a Wireless Community

IBBT and IMEC are working together on the creation of a "Wireless Community", with the aim of following up the latest technological developments concerning wireless communication and the exchange of knowledge between experts. Event on V2V and V2I communication systems

Intelligent cooperative Systems that are based on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) communications hold the promise of great improvements both in the efficiency of the transport systems and in the safety of all road users. On Monday October 13th ITS Belgium is organizing an informative event together with IBBT and Peek Traffic. On this event Peek Traffic will present their activities in the European FP7 project CVIS which is developing these so-called cooperative systems. Digital Dividend Opportunities? Multidisciplinary approach of technological and regulatory evaluation

In addition to the current challenges posed by the Next Generation Networks, the digital dividend is a hot issue in the world of telecom and other service operators. There is a lot at stake, for end-users, for telcos and for the media industry. The concerned sectors urgently need transparency to develop their strategies for the coming years. This necessarily entails a crucial task for governmental bodies at various levels.
