In order to develop a comprehensive approach to the digital society and economy not only governments, but also industries and research communities need to join forces and interact to ensure maximum cross-fertilization. IBBT is therefore proud to announce the “Future Internet Conference Week”, from 13 to 17 December 2010, offering a program of back-to-back conferences, meetings and workshops related to the different topics of interest to the organizations involved and their stakeholders. 2500 participants from all over Europe are expected to attend these activities, including keynote speakers such as Ben Verwaayen (CEO Alcatel-Lucent).
Lode Vanacken, Steven Maesen, Tom De Weyer, Sofie Notelaers, Johanna Renny Octavia and Anastasiia Beznosyk , researchers at IBBT-EDM-UHasselt have won the video contest of the first 3DUI Grand Prize. The 3DUI Grand Prize is a contest run by the annual IEEE Symposium on 3D User Interfaces (3DUI). Watch their winning video here.

Taking advantage of this year's Google I/0 event (19-20/05, San Francisco), a new Webmission will be organized in May 2010. This Webmission is aimed at Belgian entrepreneurs, journalists bloggers and Internet, mobile and tech enthusiasts, interested in promoting themselves in the US markets.
