Living books in Ghent library
Written by admin on Tuesday 07 April 2009

The IBBT SMIT research group, affiliated with the VUB, developed a project on living books in Flanders. Living books are interactive digital books picture books. The Ghent library for children holds a number of these living books with the voices of famous Flemish people such as Nic Balthazar.
In response to a seminar on living books Valentine Lerouge (IBBT - SMIT - VUB) will sound out the experience of (young) library users. During the Easter holidays the Ghent library will host a small kiosk where interactive digital picture books are demonstrated. The program is ongoing and Lerouge will observe participants and ask questions to parents whose children are watching the living books.
