Games Summit 2011 @ Antwerp

On Friday September 30th 2011, MEDIA Desk Vlaanderen organizes, in collaboration with several partners, the Games Summit for a second time. In 2008, an audience of 150 European game developers, policy makers and other involved parties received an overview of what games can signify - in social, cultural, economic and creative value.

Meanwhile, three years later, much has changed. Online connectivity and handheld devices forced the gaming industry to adapt their business models. This edition of the Games Summit demonstrates what these evolutions entail for games and the gaming industry today.
In addition, they question the current policy. Flanders generates great talent in the area of game development, but the financial support is disproportional. In Nordic countries, a vivid industry exist in which the government plays an important role. A meeting with the Nordic countries and their policymakers is therefore one of the highlights of the Games Summit.
On October 1st and 2nd, the public can become acquainted with the games, creations and demo's themselves at the first Gamezone in De Studio.
Games exhibition
From September 30th to October 2nd, game developers and students following specific gaming courses can exhibit their recently developed games during a unique games exhibition.
The deadline to sign in for this exhibition is August 22nd.
