Friday Food: cozy networking
Written by admin on Monday 04 February 2008

For the 11th time IBBT organized a Friday Food at which all IBBT research workers were welcome. To get to know colleague research workers or to see a different research group from the inside out, IBBT organizes each first Friday afternoon of the month a Friday Food. The traditional recipe of a Friday Food includes an expert lecturer, an interested and varied audience and an excess of bites to eat and drinks. The Friday Food of November, which was postponed for a week because of the holidays the week in advance, was a large success.
All necessary ingredients were present. Pieter Ballon, Olivier Braet and Simon Delaere, research workers of the IBBT research group SMIT (VUB) gave a well-structured presentation concerning recent results of a number of IBBT GBO-projects and European projects which shed new light on the platform business models that are transforming the current mobile communication. Afterwards some seventy hungry stomachs were filled with a large variety of bites to eat and drinks. Filled sandwiches, cheese bites, mini pizzas, chicken wings ... you name it, we ate it! To each his own.
It was an afternoon of cozy networking at the Friday Food. Many IBBT members hesitated before resuming work on Friday afternoon for the last couple of hours of the work week. With the last sweets still in their hands, people already looked forward to the next delicious Friday Food.
