1,000 IBBT researchers bike to the moon for charity
Written by IBBT on Tuesday 17 January 2012

IBBT believes that physical exercise is an important element of being ‘fit’ and healthy. ‘Bike to the Moon’ stimulates researchers to take the bike from home to the office – and back. The project challenges them to participate in sportive and recreative biking tours in order to increase the number of kilometers biked.
G-flux, a start-up from IBBT’s entrepeneur program, has developed a state-of-the-art cycling mobile app that is easy in use. The app tracks individual performance via GPS, using an easy button to ‘start’ and ‘stop’ your cycling trip. In order to give the researchers some extra competitive support, Eddy Merckx Cycles is partnering in the project by the donation of two super-fast bicycles.
IBBT-researchers are planning to raise 10 cents per kilometer biked for charity using the friends & family network of IBBT-colleagues - as well as the commercial IBBT-partners. In February, IBBT will disclose the good causes that will be supported.
